Romeo si Julieta ai vremurilor noastre. Doi iubiti au fost determinati de regim sa se sinucida. Doi tineri din Iran au fost descrisi ca fiind Romeo si Julieta ai timpurilor moderne, dupa ce regimul politic din tara lor i-a aruncat in ghearele mortii. Nahal Sahabi, de 28 de ani, si iubitul ei, Behnam Ganji, de 22 ani, doi blogeri cunoscuti, s-au sinucis dupa ce au fost incarcerati doar pentru ca erau prieteni cu un alt tanar, membru al unei organizatii care lupta pentru drepturile omului.

Behnam a fost inchis doar 8 zile, insa dupa ce a fost eliberat a cazut intr-o depresie severa, pe care nu a reusit sa o depaseasca nici cu tratament. Prietenii lui Behnam Ganji au declarat pentru agentiile de presa occidentale ca in inchisoare ar fi fost torturat si obligat sa-si acuze prietenul activist in organizatia de aparare a drepturilor omului. Asta se pare ca l-a daramat pe tanarul iranian si in scurt timp dupa eliberare si-a luat zilele.
Iubita lui a fost inchisa doar pentru trei zile. Nahal Sahabi n-a fost afectata atat de mult de detentie, insa vestea mortii partenerului de viata a determinat-o sa faca acelasi gest.
Inainte de a se sinucide, tanara a scris cateva mesaje tulburatoare pe blogul ei: “Poate daca intelegi ca cineva te iubeste atat de mult te vei intoarce din morti”, “E din nou joi. Vino, Behnam. Vino sa dansam impreuna inca o data intr-o zi de joi”. La cateva ore dupa ce a scris acest mesaj, tanara a fost gasita moarta in casa parintilor ei.
