In March 2009, Jackson announced that as of July 8, will hold a series of concerts entitled: This Is It. The concerts were to take place in the 02 Arena in London. Michael Jackson said "I just want to say that this will be my last live performance in London. When I say that this is the last, I'm serious," adding that "final curtain will fall."

On June 25, 2009, American singer, nicknamed "King of Pop," died at the age of 50 years in a hospital in Los Angeles.

Michael Joseph Jackson s-a născut la 29 august 1958. Al şaptelea membru al familiei Jackson, a debutat în cariera muzicală de la vârsta de 11 ani ca membru al formaţiei The Jackson 5 şi a început cariera solo în 1971 în timp ce era încă un membru al grupului.

Cunoscut ca şi Regele Muzicii Pop, în următorii ani, cinci dintre albumele sale solo au devenit cel mai binevândute albume din întreaga lume.

La începutul anilor 1980, el a devenit o figură dominantă în muzica pop şi primul artist Afro-American la MTV.
